2027 NMSitzmarkers Ski Trip to Monarch Mountain
Trip Seats are filling up fast!
Trip Details: This is a drive up trip. We will work with people who are going on the trip to coordinate those who are driving and those who need a ride. We hope that drivers will take 3 passengers. Drivers will receive a transportation fee from the Club based upon the number of passengers. (Approximately 4 hours and 45 minute drive.)
We are NOT buying lift tickets. Monarch has a new program “The Flex Ticket” designed for those who want flexibility without the commitment of a season pass. You choose how many days you want to ski and use them whenever you want during the 2026–27 season. No blackouts and no restrictions. Just the freedom to ski and ride on your schedule. It is a good deal.
“Super Senior (69+) is available again this year. “To make life a little more convenient for our Super-Seniors, instead of day-tickets we offer our Super Seniors a Monarch Only Season Pass for $25. This Season Pass, once in hand, allows you to go straight to lift on any and every day of the season and includes all of the on-mountain benefits of a regular season pass.”
We will be staying at Creekside Chalets and the Comfort Inn, Salida, just minutes from Monarch Mountain and a short drive to Salida. Creekside Chalets cabins have full kitchens and private hot tubs. Comfort Inn has a hot tub and a hot breakfast bar. Our social plans make this trip special! Also, there are a number of snowshoeing and cross-country trails nearby. Speak to the Ski Trip Coordinator regarding preferences for sharing cabins.
Friday evening’s heavy hor-de-vors happy hour at the cabins are included in the pricing (Bring your beverage). For Saturday evening we have options to go into Salida for no host dinner.

We are coming to the end of the ski season, hopefully everyone has enjoyed these trips. The lack of snow has not dampened the enthusiasm.
The 60th anniversary of the club is in April, event(s) are being planned for this exciting event. Very few clubs last this long, a testimony to all those who have worked so hard to keep the group going.
“Long live the NM Sitzmarkers Ski and Social Club”.
The Board will be discussing various new ways of getting together on and off the slopes at our next meeting.
The last trip for this year will be to Wolf Creek March 6 to 8 (space may be limited).

Let’s Attend the Isotopes Baseball Game on Thursday, June 12, 2025
Enjoy Nature!! Go to a Baseball Game!!
We are planning to attend the Albuquerque Isotopes baseball game as a group on Thursday, June 12. Before the game, we plan to hold a “Tailgate Party” in a shady area with trees that is in one of the parking lots north of the football stadium (see map). The tailgate party will begin at 5:00 pm but come when you can. The game starts at 6:35 pm. You can bring any beverage or snacks to the Tailgate party to share with the group. We will provide the tables, plates, cups and flat ware. It will cost $7.00 (credit card only) to park in the lot so you may want to consider car pooling.
We plan to sit in the box seat section (probably Section 108) where the tickets cost $22.20. If you would like tickets to sit with the group, contact Mike Harrison (e-mail: [email protected] or 505-239-2663 Cell) If your credit is good, he will purchase the tickets and distribute them just before the game or you could pick them up at his home during the day on the Monday before the game or on the day of the game. Please note that the game starts at 6:35 pm.
If you are having trouble finding the Tailgate Party, call Mike on his cell phone: 505-239-2663 or Julie Dreike 505-321-8595.
Our chances of getting a block of tickets together will be much better if we buy the tickets at least 5 days ahead of the game day. If you want to participate, please contact Mike soon, certainly by June 6. Not a member of Sitzmarkers, this is a great opportunity to join the Club!

Music Arrangement with SONY MUSIC PUBLISHING
Before she was hit-maker Carole King – she was Carole Klein, a spunky, young songwriter from Brooklyn with a unique voice. From the chart- topping hits she wrote for the biggest acts in music to her own life-changing, trailblazing success with Tapestry, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical takes you back to where it all began — and takes you on the ride of a lifetime.
