The board has been busy finalizing the website details and getting ready for the ski season. The Monarch trip has been a very popular new trip for this season. Purgatory is filling up fast and there will be details about the family friendly Wolf Creek trip very soon. We would love to serve more families and welcome all to our group.
Sitzmarkers is not only a ski group, but also a social group. We have social events throughout the year. We recntly had an event at Sport Systems followed by a get together at a local bar. Several of us went to the Adaptive program’s ski movie night at Sport Systems amphitheater. None of us will be able to ski like the skiers in that movie, but I guarantee we will have fun on the slopes and elsewhere. There was a holiday get together early this month, a ski trip sign up party and a “pray for snow” party. There was a hike in the Valles Caldera in September, guided by one of the rangers. These are but a few of the events we have had ths year.
There is no need to be alone! You can ski with us, socialize with us, or any combination therof. Many of us joined as we did not wish to ski alone. We emphasize the importance of skiing in a group, it is dangerous to ski alone. Others join as couples, it is a great way to meet friends. Usually several members of similar abilities ski together, those with better skills will be around to offer kindly advice.
Our web site is being organized so that we can contacteach other for an ad hoc ski day when the snow is great. There are may reasons to be a member!
Above all else, get out there and enjoy the opportunities the Sitzmarker Ski and Social club offers.
