Where are the Sitzmarkers going Skiing this season?
We are planning great ski trips for you!
Monarch Ski Resort https://skimonarch.com/
The Monarch Mountain No Name Expansion is an exciting development project that will enhance the ski area’s offerings by adding 377 acres of new terrain and 10-12 new named runs. The terrain will feature 1,000 vertical feet with a variety of options for skiers and riders, including intermediate and advanced trails with groomed, bump, and gladed sections. This expansion aims to provide 50% more skiable acres accessible from the Breezeway or Panorama Lifts. Development and construction will continue through the summer of 2025, with plans to open the new terrain during the 25/26 ski season. As part of the expansion, Monarch will install a Skytrac three-person fixed-grip lift with roughly a 1000’ ft vertical fall line. Additional planned amenities include expanding our ski patrol outpost, a warming hut for guests, and vault toilets, ensuring both safety and comfort for visitors exploring the new area.
Purgatory Ski Resort https://www.purgatory.ski/
We know this mountain well to provide a variety of trails from beginner to challenging steeps and trees. Located in the rugged San Juan Mountains in southwest Colorado, Purgatory Resort is only 25 miles north of historic downtown Durango. Carved by glaciers thousands of years ago, Purgatory offers a unique blend of steep tree skiing trails and wide-open cruisers with stunning views. Averaging 260 inches of snow annually, Purgatory is known for consistent, dry powder from frequent storms which are followed by sunny, bluebird days — creating perfect conditions for pure alpine nirvana. Purgatory features over 1,600 acres of skiable terrain, 107 trails, 11 lifts, multiple terrain parks and a vertical drop of 2,029 feet. Renowned as a family-friendly resort, there are many ways to enjoy the incredible winter wonderland at Purgatory. This is a favorite trip for the apre ski activities we plan each year.
Wolf Creek Ski Resort https://wolfcreekski.com/
An exceptional variety of terrain, abundant snowfall and plenty of powder days makes Wolf Creek a place for everyone to enjoy. Exploring all varieties of terrain is simple with a refined lift system inclusive of eleven lifts total, ranging from high-speed detachable quads and triple chairlifts to rolling conveyors. Wolf Creek has gradual sloping, wide green runs for beginners to excellent expert terrain. Tree skiing is endless and advanced skiers and boarders have many chutes, glades, bowls, ridges and steeps to choose from that give an in-bounds backcountry experience. Finding intermediate groomers to cruise down isn’t hard to find either.
